DIRECT — dry level. The real RE‑201 has a fixed −15 dBm direct path (p.17); this makes it a blend. TAPE AGE — oxide wear: high‑frequency loss per pass, hiss, wow depth, dropouts. SPREAD — pans PH‑1/2/3 across the stereo field. The original is mono.
Delay times follow d/v with the heads at 2.8 / 5.4 / 8.3 cm from the record head and a
12–40 cm/s capstan (Service Notes p.18) → 70–692 ms.
